Abhijeet Dipke, the founder and chief president of the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP)—a satirical political movement that has recently created a nationwide stir—was attacked by an unidentified individual in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The incident occurred during a massive protest organized by the CJP against the NEET question paper leak and alleged irregularities in the CBSE on-screen marking system. As Dipke was participating in the demonstration, an unknown man suddenly rushed toward him and slapped him across the face.
The unexpected assault triggered immediate chaos and tension at the protest site. Following the slap, Dipke’s supporters and party workers quickly surrounded the attacker and retaliated. Despite the escalating commotion, Dipke repeatedly appealed to his followers to remain calm and refrain from beating the individual; however, the agitated crowd did not back down immediately. Security personnel and police units soon intervened to bring the situation under control, and video footages of the entire confrontation have since gone viral across social media platforms.
The CJP has been actively staging demonstrations across major urban hubs—including Delhi (Jantar Mantar), Indore, Lucknow, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru—to demand the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET examination leaks. Formed on May 16 by Abhijeet Dipke, a former media strategist for the Aam Aadmi Party, the movement was birthed in protest against remarks made during a Supreme Court hearing where a judge allegedly compared struggling, unemployed youth to parasites and cockroaches. Authorities have initiated a formal inquiry into the Jaipur attack to identify the perpetrators and ascertain the underlying motives.
