Chandrababu Naidu Meets Singapore PM Lawrence Wong: Key Tech and Connectivity Talks

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nari Chandrababu Naidu participated in crucial high-level meetings on Monday during his two-day official visit to Singapore. The Chief Minister held separate bilateral discussions with Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan. Aimed entirely at driving the growth of Andhra Pradesh and attracting global investments, the dialogues primarily focused on strengthening strategic partnerships, expanding direct air connectivity, and boosting international flight operations from major AP airports.

During his meeting with Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, Naidu highlighted the vast investment potential in Andhra Pradesh, presenting the comprehensive master plans for the capital city, Amaravati. He emphasized that the state is rapidly advancing in both manufacturing and service sectors, supported by abundant land availability and a highly skilled talent pool. Furthermore, he outlined the state’s strategic maritime layout to improve cargo logistics, its massive push to emerge as a national hub for green energy, green ammonia, and green hydrogen, and the ongoing progress of the submarine cable project and data center ecosystem in Visakhapatnam. He also noted that Amaravati is being developed into a ‘Quantum Valley’ while global steel giant ArcelorMittal is establishing a massive plant in Northern Andhra.

Prior to this, Chief Minister Naidu met Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong at his official residence for a 30-minute discussion focused on leveraging Singapore’s expertise in urban governance for Amaravati and other major AP cities. Naidu sought strategic collaboration in advanced technological fields such as IT, semiconductors, Artificial Intelligence (), and quantum computing, alongside academic partnerships between universities for research and capacity building. He additionally requested Singapore to consider importing premium, naturally farmed aquaculture and horticulture products from AP, highlighting the state’s efforts toward international certification. Prime Minister Lawrence Wong showed keen interest in Amaravati’s world-class infrastructure and educational frameworks, while Naidu reaffirmed his vision to build one of the world’s most livable cities alongside generating 160 GW of green energy.
