AP SIPB Approves ₹30,515 Crore Investments: CM Chandrababu Naidu Greenlights 50 Mega Projects to Create Nearly 30,000 Jobs

In a major boost to Andhra Pradesh’s industrial sector, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu chaired the 18th State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) meeting at the Amaravati Secretariat on Thursday, greenlighting 50 mega projects worth a whopping ₹30,515 crore. The state government estimates that the establishment of these new industries will generate direct employment opportunities for 29,677 youths across the state. Emphasizing inclusive growth, Chief Minister Naidu directed officials to implement revolutionary changes so that industrial development does not remain confined to the wealthy, enabling common citizens to grow as entrepreneurs.

During the high-level meeting, the Chief Minister sent a stern warning to non-serious entities, asserting that there is no place in Andhra Pradesh for “non-serious players” who delay projects after obtaining clearances. He highlighted the state’s focus on future technologies and green energy, particularly ethanol manufacturing following the central government’s nod for 40% ethanol blending, which aims to cut fuel import bills and directly benefit local farmers. Furthermore, the government has prioritized building a robust semiconductor ecosystem, boosting lithium-ion battery manufacturing, and converting the Bengaluru-Puttaparthi region into a premier aerospace and defense corridor with the fast-tracking of a fifth-generation fighter jet manufacturing facility. Tourism hubs are also set to be upgraded with an international-standard resort at Horsley Hills and a dedicated master plan for Bapatla’s Suryalanka Beach.

Complementing these initiatives, IT, Electronics, and Communications Minister Nara Lokesh announced a crucial policy shift, clarifying that government incentives and subsidies will only be disbursed after companies actually commence physical work and enter the production phase. “Revenue comes to the state in the form of GST only when industries become operational, and it is legally appropriate to extend incentives only after that stage,” Lokesh emphasized. To ensure the state’s youth are career-ready, special skill development training is being provided to ITI and Polytechnic students aligned with the precise needs of local industries, alongside the setup of a unique Center of Excellence for Rare Earth Minerals at Andhra University.
