The Badrish Sanyukt Sangharsh Samiti has written to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami seeking a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into alleged irregularities involving donations made at Shri Badrinath Dham. The demand comes amid growing public attention over similar allegations related to temple donations in Ayodhya.
Earlier, the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) initiated a formal inquiry into the matter after allegations surfaced on social media. BKTC President Hemant Dwivedi said an inquiry committee had been constituted to conduct a fair and transparent investigation, and notices had been issued to the employees named in the allegations, seeking their explanations. He also clarified that one of the employees mentioned online was not his personal secretary but a regular government employee of the temple committee.
Dwivedi assured that strict action would be taken if any employee was found guilty after the investigation. He appealed to devotees and the public not to spread unverified information on social media and to wait for the official findings of the inquiry. Meanwhile, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is also scheduled to discuss matters related to an ongoing probe into alleged irregularities in temple donation collections during its meeting on July 6.
