A drug awareness programme was conducted on Saturday at the Zilla Parishad High School in Bollampally village of Veldanda Mandal in Nagarkurnool district as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. The programme was organized under the “Viksit Bharat Ki Pehchan” initiative to educate students about the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse.
Speaking at the event, Anganwadi Cherkur Sector Supervisor Saritha Reddy said that eliminating substance abuse is essential for building a healthy society. She urged students to stay away from drugs and spread awareness among their family members and friends about the serious physical, mental and social consequences of substance abuse.
As part of the programme, students were also administered a pledge to contribute towards making society free from drugs. The event was attended by the school headmaster, teachers and students, who participated in the awareness campaign.
