Janhvi Kapoor Pays Emotional Tribute to Mother Sridevi with Heartfelt Poem

Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor paid a touching and emotional tribute to her late mother, the legendary superstar Sridevi, by reciting a heartfelt poem she had written. Janhvi read the poem aloud while appearing on the talk show “Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle,” where she was a guest alongside director Karan Johar.

The Emotional Verses

The poem beautifully captures Janhvi’s grief and her continuous connection with her mother. The lines read: “Bachi thi phir achanak ek din woh haq kho diya, Jo laad mangti thi usse muh mod liya, Apni awaaz kho ke apni maa ki awaaz me baat karti hu, Issi jariye me unke paas bhi rakhti hu.” The translation conveys her feeling of suddenly losing her childhood right, turning away from the love she sought, and now speaking in her mother’s voice to keep her close.

Sridevi’s Legacy and Janhvi’s Journey

Sridevi passed away on February 24, 2018, in Dubai due to accidental drowning at the age of 54. Her untimely death occurred just months before Janhvi’s debut film, Dhadak, leaving the nation in shock. Following the tragedy, Sridevi’s death brought Boney Kapoor’s children from his first marriage, Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor, closer to their step-sisters Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor. Janhvi has since established herself in the industry, starring in films like Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, Bawal, and was last seen in the ₹100 crore club movie Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.
