“They Didn’t Even Spare Ministers of Their Own Party”: Sensational Remarks by MP Chamala in Phone Tapping Case

In a significant development in the high-profile Telangana phone tapping case, Bhongir Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) at the Banjara Hills Command Control Center to record his statement as a victim. The SIT officials had previously identified that during the last Assembly elections, when Kiran Kumar Reddy was serving as the Media Committee Chairman, his phone was illegally tapped from July 30 until the conclusion of the polls.

Speaking to the media after the investigation, Chamala launched a fierce attack on BRS Chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). He alleged that the previous regime orchestrated this massive tapping conspiracy solely to eavesdrop on the conversations of key Congress leaders and to covertly track their electoral strategies.

The MP made sensational claims by stating that KCR, driven by a desperate bid to retain power, did not just target opposition leaders but also illegally tapped the phones of his own party’s ministers and leaders, including former minister T. Harish Rao. Chamala further accused the BRS leadership of using this surveillance to preemptively identify and threaten leaders who were planning to defect to other parties, confidently predicting that all the accused involved in this illegal operation would face strict legal punishment.
