‘Telangana is Our Next Target’: BJP Leaders Buoyed by Historic Wins in Bengal and Assam

Following the BJP’s significant victories in West Bengal and Assam, the party’s Telangana wing has declared that the Telugu state is their next major objective. Celebrations broke out at the state headquarters in Hyderabad on Monday, with leaders bursting crackers and distributing sweets. Prominent figures like Alleti Maheshwar Reddy and State President N. Ramchander Rao asserted that the people of Telangana are disillusioned with the failures of both the Congress and BRS, making the state ripe for a “double-engine government” focused on corruption-free and people-centric development.

The party is leveraging the momentum from the national wins to prepare for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Hyderabad on May 10. This visit, his first after assuming office for a historic third term, will include a massive public meeting at the Secunderabad Parade Grounds. Leaders expect a turnout of over two lakh people. During the visit, the Prime Minister is slated to dedicate development projects worth ₹7,823 crore to the state, which BJP leaders claim is a clear signal of the party’s commitment to forming the next government in Telangana.

In a sharp critique of the current regional leadership, Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar stated that the election results serve as a “fitting reply” to Chief Ministers Revanth Reddy and M.K. Stalin. He accused them of attempting to divide the country with “North-South” political rhetoric. BJP leaders highlighted that the decline of the DMK in Tamil Nadu and the shift in Bengal prove that voters are rejecting divisive politics in favor of stability. They expressed total confidence that the saffron flag will fly high in the next Telangana elections, mirroring the transformative changes seen across the country.
