In a major move to cater to the growing needs of Hyderabad residents, the Telangana government, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, has approved the construction of a state-of-the-art vegetable market in Aziznagar. Spanning approximately 42 acres in the Moinabad mandal of Rangareddy district, this massive project was officially sanctioned during a recent cabinet meeting. This development follows the ongoing rapid progress of the fruit market at Koheda, signaling a broader effort to modernize agricultural infrastructure and boost the development of the city’s outskirts.
Beyond the new market, the cabinet has addressed pressing farmer concerns and land valuation policies. To support those affected by recent unseasonal rains, district-in-charge ministers have been directed to ensure every impacted farmer receives assistance. Additionally, the government has decided to scientifically revise land registration values starting from the last week of this month. This adjustment is intended to align official prices with current market rates, ensuring that individuals who provide land for public projects receive fair and improved compensation packages.
In a push toward sustainable energy and fiscal management, the cabinet also greenlit the establishment of solar power plants across nine composite districts. These plants will be strategically located near electricity substations to enhance supply and distribution efficiency. Furthermore, to address long-standing tax arrears in government offices, a ‘One-Time Settlement’ (OTS) scheme has been introduced for institutions within the Greater Hyderabad and Cyberabad limits. These multifaceted decisions reflect the government’s current focus on balancing infrastructure growth with farmer welfare and environmental conservation.
