Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) founder Kavitha responded to the Tamil Nadu Assembly election results, hailing the victory of Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) as a turning point. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), she stated that the Tamil electorate has sent a powerful signal to the entire country. According to her, the results prove that the public is exhausted with established leadership and “power-hungry” politicians, highlighting a desperate need for fresh political movements to rewrite history.
Kavitha, who recently launched her own political party, emphasized that the shift in Tamil Nadu reflects a broader desire for alternatives to stagnant political systems. “We are tired of the status quo. The people of Tamil Nadu have shown that ‘new political forces’ are necessary to overhaul a corrupted political landscape,” she tweeted. Her comments suggest a shared sentiment between her new political journey and the wave of change currently sweeping through Tamil Nadu.
As of the latest trends, Vijay’s TVK has made a stunning impact, leading in 82 seats and winning 24, while the incumbent DMK and opposition AIADMK trail significantly. This performance marks the first time in decades that a non-Dravidian major force has challenged the traditional bipolar system so effectively. Kavitha’s reaction underscores how Vijay’s success is being viewed by other new political aspirants as a validation of their own efforts to challenge established parties.
