Union Minister of State Bandi Sanjay has approached the City Civil Court seeking a legal injunction to prevent his name from being linked to the ongoing POCSO case involving his son. In his petition, the Minister requested the court to issue orders restraining media houses and individuals from using his name in connection with the controversy in the future. He further urged the court to direct the removal of existing videos and content that have already utilized his name and image to report on the matter.
Bandi Sanjay emphasized in his petition that he has no personal involvement in the case filed against his son, Bandi Bhagirath. He argued that dragging his name into the legal dispute is unjust and requested the court to issue clear directives to protect his identity from being associated with the criminal proceedings. The Minister’s move comes amid intense media scrutiny and social media debate surrounding the allegations against his son.
In a related development, the Petbasheerabad Police have registered cases against several social media account operators for revealing the identity of the minor victim. Acting on a complaint from the Chairperson of the Medchal District Child Welfare Committee, the police noted that broadcasting the girl’s photos, videos, and her parents’ details is a violation of the law. Authorities are now cracking down on those circulating sensitive information that compromises the privacy and safety of the minor involved.
