Tollywood Percentage Dispute Resolved: Dil Raju Assures Smooth Release for ‘Peddhi’

Renowned film producer Dil Raju has addressed the ongoing controversy regarding the “percentage system” between exhibitors and producers in Tollywood. Speaking after a crucial meeting at the Film Chamber, he announced that both parties have reached an amicable solution. Dil Raju stated that producers have expressed their willingness to align with the percentage-based revenue model demanded by exhibitors, putting an end to the recent deadlock that threatened upcoming big-ticket releases.

To streamline this transition, Dil Raju revealed that a dedicated committee will be formed to oversee the implementation of the new system. This committee will be responsible for categorizing theaters into A, B, and C centers and determining the specific percentage shares based on the location and capacity of the screens. This move aims to bring single-screen theaters on par with the revenue models currently followed by multiplexes, a long-standing demand from the Telangana Exhibitors Association.

Addressing concerns regarding the highly anticipated Ram Charan starrer ‘Peddhi’, Dil Raju assured fans and industry stakeholders that the film will be released on June 4 in a very healthy and cooperative environment. Previously, there were allegations that the exhibitors’ demands were strategically timed to target this major release. However, with the successful resolution of the dispute, Dil Raju clarified that there is no longer any doubt about the movie’s smooth theatrical run across the state.
