Kangana Ranaut Expresses Anguish Over Young Women’s Deaths: “Prioritize Career Over Marriage and Be Your Own Hero!”

In the wake of a disturbing rise in the deaths of newly married women, Bollywood actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has issued a crucial piece of advice to young women across the nation. She strongly urged them to prioritize their careers and achieve complete financial independence before even considering marriage. Taking to her Instagram stories to voice her deep concern, Kangana’s powerful message regarding women’s autonomy and the horrors of dowry harassment has since ignited a widespread conversation on social media.

The trigger for her poignant response includes the tragic death of 33-year-old Twisha Sharma on May 12 in Noida at her husband Samarth Singh’s residence, which has sent shockwaves through the country. Following allegations of severe dowry harassment, a case was registered against Samarth Singh, who is a lawyer, and his mother Giribala Singh, a retired judge. Although the defense claims Twisha was battling addiction and undergoing psychiatric treatment, this incident, coupled with another similar tragic death of a young woman named Deepika Nagar in Greater Noida, has put the spotlight back on systemic domestic abuse.

Reacting to these heartbreaking incidents, Kangana lamented how even highly educated young women are finding themselves trapped in abusive situations without any societal or communal support after their weddings. She gave a firm wake-up call to young women, stating, “Your career is more important than anything else. Never get married without being financially stable because nobody is coming to save you; you have to be your own hero. What you do in life and who you are matters infinitely more than who you marry.”
