Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) chief YS Sharmila has launched a scathing attack on YSRCP chief and her brother, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, accusing him of completely dismantling the ideologies of their late father, YS Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR). Speaking to the media in Vijayawada on Tuesday, Sharmila mocked Jagan’s previous five-year tenure, stating that he assumed power by pleading for ‘one chance’ in YSR’s name but ultimately delivered nothing to the public except pressing buttons on a screen. She remarked that merely pushing switches does not guarantee political longevity or make someone a Chief Minister repeatedly.
Taking her criticism further, Sharmila expressed deep anger over Jagan’s administrative style, noting that his regime was so unapproachable that even his own party’s MLAs and MPs were denied appointments to meet him. She slammed the YSRCP leadership for holding protests against the current government, calling it shameful given that they were the ones who heavily burdened the common public during their rule. Sharmila alleged that after becoming Chief Minister, Jagan completely surrendered to the BJP-led central government, maintaining a covert alliance that compromised the state’s interests.
Sharmila emphasized that while Jagan gained power by riding on the emotional wave of their father’s legacy, his actions in office directly betrayed those very principles. She pointed out that true governance requires real public engagement and development, rather than superficial welfare distribution via digital schemes. Her sharp comments have added fresh fuel to the ongoing political discourse in Andhra Pradesh, spotlighting the deep and continuing rift within the YS family.
