A Congress party review meeting at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad turned chaotic following a physical altercation between party leaders Feroz Khan and Usman Al Hazri. The incident took place in the presence of state minister Ponnam Prabhakar and senior leader Mohammad Azharuddin. The dispute reportedly arose over a protocol issue regarding who would sit next to Azharuddin on the stage. As the argument escalated into a physical scuffle, Usman Al Hazri pushed Feroz Khan, causing him to fall to the ground, much to the shock of those attending the meeting.
Senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao quickly stepped in to intervene and defuse the tension. However, the aggressive behavior of the duo nearly resulted in him being pushed aside as well, forcing other party members to immediately intervene and separate them. Disturbed by the sudden ruckus and lack of decorum, Azharuddin left the venue abruptly. Following the unrest, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar officially called off the proceedings and announced that the review meeting had concluded.
Following the altercation, Feroz Khan downplayed the severity of the incident, describing it as a minor misunderstanding over seating arrangements. He explained that multiple leaders naturally wished to sit next to the minister on the dais, which led to the heated argument. Striking a conciliatory tone, Khan added that Usman Al Hazri is like an elder brother to him, emphasizing that the issue is strictly an internal, family matter that they would resolve privately within the party.
