We Have Given Amaravati Shakalable Legal Sanctity that No One Can Shake in History: Pemmasani at ‘Mahanadu’

Union Minister of State Pemmasani Chandrasekhar highlighted the strong support of the Central Government for Andhra Pradesh’s rapid growth under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Speaking on the second day of Mahanadu-2026 at NTR Bhavan on the resolution regarding ‘Central Assistance to the State,’ he revealed that the Centre has allocated ₹15,000 crores in the budget for the state’s dream capital, Amaravati. He emphasized that the alliance government has successfully brought an unshakeable legal status to Amaravati, freeing it from the restrictions imposed by the previous regime.

Addressing key infrastructural achievements, Pemmasani assured that the Polavaram irrigation project will be completed by 2027, which will turn 30 lakh acres of land fertile. He sharply criticized the previous YSRCP government, stating that while 70% of the project work was finished during the 2014-19 TDP tenure, the subsequent administration completed a mere 5%. Furthermore, he noted that the Central Government has extended a significant financial assistance of ₹11,400 crores to support the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, a project deeply tied to the rights and sentiments of the people of Andhra Pradesh.

Highlighting the alliance government’s proactive governance over the past two years, Pemmasani explained how they paid ₹12,000 crores to revive 82 central schemes that were neglected by the previous administration. He listed major milestones in the transport sector, including the acquisition of railway projects worth ₹20,000 crores, the introduction of 16 Vande Bharat trains, and the development of 73 Amrit Bharat stations. Additionally, he pointed out that while the past government spent only ₹600 crores on the Bhogapuram Airport in five years, the current government has successfully pushed the project to the brink of inauguration by fast-tracking works worth ₹4,000 crores.
