Tata Motors has officially launched the updated version of the highly popular Tiago EV, introducing a host of design changes and premium features to further solidify its dominance in the electric vehicle market. This new electric hatchback arrives at an attractive starting price of ₹6.99 lakh, stretching up to ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-end variant. In a significant move to lower upfront acquisition costs, Tata is also offering a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option priced at ₹4.69 lakh, which requires an additional battery rental fee of ₹2.60 per kilometer.
While the car retains its familiar footprint and silhouette shared with the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) version, the Tiago EV facelift brings substantial aesthetic updates. The front fascia is redesigned with a sleeker set of headlamps featuring integrated LED DRLs, a modified modern bumper, and a body-colored closed-off panel. The side and rear profiles are enhanced by 14-inch alloy wheels, a shark fin antenna, distinctive Tata EV branding, a gloss-black strip on the tailgate, and modern connected LED tail lamps. The car is being made available in a total of six distinct exterior color choices.
Mechanically, the facelifted electric hatchback continues to offer two battery pack configurations: a 19.2kWh and a larger 24kWh unit, with the latter delivering a driving range of approximately 285 kilometers on a single charge. Inside the cabin, the dashboard has been completely modernized with a dual-tone theme and two prominent free-standing digital displays: a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster. For maximum comfort and top-tier safety, the vehicle is packed with premium additions such as dual wireless smartphone chargers, auto-folding ORVMs, rear AC vents, an air filter, an electric tailgate, a 360-degree camera system, and 6 airbags.
