Oman Coast Missile Strike: Chief Marine Engineer from Vizag Killed; CM Chandrababu Naidu Expresses Deep Condolences

A missile strike off the coast of Oman has triggered global ripples, causing a tragic casualty from Andhra Pradesh. Chief Marine Engineer Patnala Suresh, a resident of the Visakhapatnam district, lost his life in the devastating attack. Expressing profound shock and grief over the catastrophic incident, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family. The Chief Minister directed senior bureaucrats to ensure that all necessary administrative support and relief from the state government are promptly extended to the engineer’s grieving family.

Following the Chief Minister’s directives, state authorities have initiated a high-priority process to repatriate Suresh’s mortal remains to India at the earliest. CM Chandrababu Naidu instructed AP Bhavan officials in New Delhi to constantly coordinate with the Indian Embassy in Oman as well as local Omani administrative bodies. Acting on these executive orders, the assigned officials have established direct communication lines with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Omani government to expedite the legal and bureaucratic clearance procedures required for the repatriation.

According to available maritime updates, the targeted oil tanker is currently stranded in international waters, approximately 30 nautical miles off the coast of Oman. Omani emergency rescue teams are actively working to safely tow the vessel back to the nearest seaport, which is anticipated to be docked by midnight. Once the ship berths at the port, official identification protocols and the necessary documentation will be completed to facilitate the swift transit of the body to Visakhapatnam. Assuring full state backing, CM Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that the government stands firmly with the family during this hour of immense international tragedy.
