The Telangana state government has launched a massive initiative aimed at providing international-standard facilities to government school students while boosting the sports sector. With a strong commitment to providing quality educational amenities to underprivileged students, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy grandly launched the distribution of the prestigious ‘Young India Student Kit’ at the LB Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday (June 19). Alongside State Governor Shiva Pratap Shukla, the Chief Minister personally handed over these specialized kits to the students at the venue.
Nearly 15,000 students from government schools, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs), government residential schools (Gurukulams), and welfare hostels gathered for this historic event. The government carefully customized these kits based on the institution and specific needs of the students: 22 types of daily essentials and learning materials for residential (Gurukulam) students, 10 types of items for hostel students, and 7 types of educational supplies for day scholars. Highlighting the event, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also administered an anti-drug pledge to all the assembled students to protect their future and build a healthier society.
In addition to academic growth, the Governor and CM laid foundations and inaugurated sports projects worth ₹50.73 crores to place Telangana at the forefront of athletics. This includes a ₹36.65 crore allocation for building new mini-stadiums and modernizing existing ones across various districts, including Shadnagar, Sangareddy, Kamareddy, Narayanpet, Wanaparthy, and Medak. Furthermore, they launched premium sports academies worth ₹14.08 crores at Gachibowli and LB Stadiums, which feature the FIFA-AIFF Telangana Talent Academy alongside dedicated setups for athletics, hockey, football, and handball. CM Revanth Reddy emphasized that his government’s primary mission is to offer corporate-level education to poor children and unearth the hidden athletic talent among rural youth.
