A sensational update has arrived for one of the most anticipated collaborations in Indian cinema, featuring Superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan. The massive project, which had been tracking under the tentative working title ‘Thalaivar 173’, has officially been titled ‘Dharman’. This highly prestigious venture is being bankrolled by Kamal Haasan’s renowned production house, Raj Kamal Films International. Accompanying the title reveal, the makers dropped a striking first-look poster that completely took social media by storm, showing Rajinikanth standing in an operation theater holding a surgical blade with a thug pinned under his foot. This officially confirms the long-standing rumors that the veteran actor will be portraying a powerful doctor, and Kamal Haasan shared the poster with the Tamil caption, “Dharmame Vellum!” (Righteousness wins).
The official poster release has also cleared up months of intense suspense surrounding the film’s director. Initially, director Sundar C was announced to helm the project, but he subsequently stepped down due to undisclosed reasons. Following his departure, the name of ‘Don’ fame director Cibi Chakaravarthi made the rounds, but he too unexpectedly exited the film. Putting an end to all speculations, the new poster confirms that Ashwath Marimuthu—celebrated for directing ‘Oh My Kadavule’ and ‘Dragon’—will be directing this high-octane action drama.
Jointly produced by Kamal Haasan and R. Mahendran, ‘Dharman’ boasts an exceptional technical crew from across the industry. Rockstar Anirudh Ravichander is scoring the background music and soundtrack for the film, while the National Award-winning action choreographer duo Anbariv will be designing the high-octane stunts.
