Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched a sharp attack on the Centre over the NEET controversy, stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “56-inch chest” had once again bowed before the power of the youth. He alleged that the Union government was forced to yield in the face of widespread student protests and criticized the handling of the education system.
Drawing a comparison with the farmers’ movement, Revanth Reddy said that just as prolonged protests compelled the Centre to repeal the farm laws, the anger of students had now exposed the failures of the Union Education Ministry. He demanded immediate justice for all those affected by the NEET controversy and called for the withdrawal of cases registered against students who participated in the protests.
The Chief Minister further said that the slogan “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” would now be joined by “Jai Yuva,” emphasizing the growing role of youth in shaping the country’s future. He also asserted that today’s youth would not be intimidated by agencies such as the ED, CBI, or the Income Tax Department, and urged the Centre to address students’ concerns instead of suppressing dissent.
