A free eye screening camp organized by the Jain Sangh in Chittoor received an overwhelming response on Sunday. The initiative was conducted with the objective of providing quality eye care to underprivileged people and preventing avoidable blindness through timely diagnosis and treatment.
A total of 210 people underwent comprehensive eye examinations during the camp. After detailed screening, 99 patients were identified as requiring cataract or other eye surgeries and were selected for further treatment.
The medical team from SV Aravind Eye Hospital conducted the examinations and offered expert consultations to the participants. Organizers said such health camps play a vital role in improving access to quality eye care and raising awareness about the importance of regular eye check-ups.
