Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to organize the inauguration of the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram on a grand scale. During a video conference, he instructed authorities to launch a statewide awareness campaign under the theme “Wings to North Andhra’s Dreams.” The Chief Minister said the airport would be a game-changer for North Andhra and a major milestone in the region’s economic and infrastructure development. The airport will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 1.
Chandrababu asked district collectors to ensure maximum public participation and create awareness about the long-term benefits of the airport. He emphasized that every household in North Andhra should understand how the new airport will improve connectivity, boost tourism, attract investments, and generate employment opportunities. Officials were also directed to use social media and public outreach programs to spread awareness across the state.
To mark the inauguration, the Chief Minister proposed a series of special events involving youth, women, and students. These include volleyball tournaments, 3K and 5K runs, cultural competitions, quizzes, drawing and essay contests highlighting the airport’s significance. Around 600 winners from these competitions will be invited to witness the inauguration ceremony. Drone shows, flash mobs, public lectures, and roundtable meetings with industrialists have also been planned to showcase the airport’s investment and business potential.
