Telangana has secured the top position in the country for cyber crime control and overall performance during the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) ‘PRAGATI’ review meeting. The ranking was based on nine key parameters, including the State Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (S4C), implementation of e-Zero FIR, grievance redressal mechanisms, the Money Restoration Module (MRM), the Sahayog and Samanvaya portals, cyber hotspot identification, officer training, public awareness, and effective use of I4C platforms developed by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
To improve citizen services, the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) has launched a dedicated helpline, 8712665600, to assist with bank account freeze and unfreeze issues. As of August 2, 2026, the bureau had received 2,368 applications and successfully resolved 2,086 of them, achieving an 88% disposal rate.
Under the Money Restoration Module, cyber fraud victims can receive refunds of up to ₹50,000 without the need for an FIR or court order, while higher amounts require legal approval. Telangana has recorded 34,524 recovery-related cases involving ₹16.42 crore, with legal orders issued in 28,097 cases, reflecting an 81.38% success rate in processing such cases.
