Tension has gripped Tadipatri town in Anantapur district after police denied permission for political programmes proposed by both the YSRCP and TDP. The YSRCP had planned a protest rally led by former MLA Kethireddy Peddareddy, demanding a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in the DSC recruitment process. Meanwhile, the TDP was preparing to conduct a door-to-door campaign under the leadership of MLA JC Asmith Reddy and former MLA JC Prabhakar Reddy.
Tadipatri in-charge DSP A. Srinivas clarified that neither of the two major political parties had received police permission to conduct their respective programmes. He said the decision was taken to prevent any disruption to law and order and to ensure that the daily lives of the public were not affected. Police also warned that organising rallies, meetings or gatherings without permission could lead to strict legal action.
As a precautionary measure, additional police forces have been deployed across Tadipatri town, while checkposts have been established at several locations to monitor the situation. The police urged political parties, leaders and workers to cooperate with the authorities in maintaining peace. Officials further warned that anyone attempting to disturb public order would face strict action under the law.
