The accident occurred during the Sri Draupathi Sametha Dharmaraja Swamy Tirunala celebrations in Puttur. While putting up a welcome banner on the main road for the festival, the banner accidentally came into contact with overhead electrical wires. The resulting electric shock proved fatal for Gokul and Vignesh, who reportedly died on the spot.
The two victims were reportedly pursuing their degree at the same college.
