Malayalam superstar Dulquer Salmaan and talented director Venky Atluri are set to reunite for the sequel to their blockbuster film Lucky Baskhar. Dulquer and Venky Atluri themselves confirmed in a recent interview that they are planning a sequel to the highly successful film. The announcement has created considerable excitement among moviegoers and fans.
Lucky Baskhar revolved around an ordinary bank cashier who becomes wealthy through a series of scams. Made on a reported budget of around Rs. 30 crore, the film went on to gross more than Rs. 111 crore worldwide, emerging as the biggest hit of Dulquer Salmaan’s career. The film’s 1980s and 1990s Mumbai setting, banking scams and portrayal of middle-class struggles were widely appreciated by audiences.
Venky Atluri’s storytelling, dialogues and emotional moments became major highlights of the film. The movie also received a prestigious National Award from the Central Government in the dialogue category, further adding to its acclaim. With the sequel now confirmed, expectations are high to see what new chapter Dulquer Salmaan and Venky Atluri will bring to the Lucky Baskhar franchise.
