Eicher Lorry Catches Fire Near Ghanpur ORR Exit in Hyderabad

An Eicher lorry suddenly caught fire near Ghanpur ORR Exit No. 9 under the Ghatkesar Police Station limits of Medchal-Malkajgiri district. The vehicle was completely gutted in the incident, causing property damage estimated at around ₹16 lakh. The driver escaped unharmed after noticing the fire in time and immediately moving away from the vehicle.

According to police, the 10-tyre Eicher lorry (AP16TX7157) was travelling from Autonagar towards Nacharam carrying various goods. At around 2 PM on Monday, the vehicle reached the Ghanpur ORR exit when the driver, K. Shyamala Rao, noticed flames coming from the engine. He immediately pulled the lorry over to the roadside and got out of the vehicle.

The fire quickly spread across the lorry, resulting in significant damage to the vehicle and the goods being transported. The driver’s timely alertness helped prevent any loss of life. Police have begun an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
