Rice millers in Banswada of Kamareddy district staged a protest by observing a shutdown. They demanded that vigilance raids on rice mills be stopped immediately and that transport charges be increased. The millers also urged the government to clear the pending milling charges without further delay.
Speaking on the occasion, former honorary president Nagulagama Venkanna Set said the government should immediately release the pending milling charges owed to millers. He also requested an increase in transport charges and urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to invite the millers for discussions to address their concerns.
The millers made it clear that the shutdown would continue until the Chief Minister holds talks with them and resolves their issues. As part of the protest, rice mills in Banswada remained closed. The millers appealed to the government to respond promptly and take steps to resolve their demands.
