YouTube Ends Language Barriers: Video Dubbing in 27 Languages with New AI Feature!

YouTube, the Google-owned video giant, has expanded its AI Auto-Dubbing feature to all creators globally. This tool allows videos to be automatically dubbed into 27 different languages. Previously restricted to educational and informational content, this feature is now available for almost all categories (except music videos). This update enables creators to reach a diverse global audience effortlessly, without the need for manual translation.

As part of this update, YouTube has also launched ‘Expressive Speech’. Unlike older, robotic AI voices, this technology ensures the dubbed audio sounds natural by retaining the original speaker’s tone, energy, and emotional nuances. Currently, Expressive Speech is available in eight major languages, including Hindi, English, and Spanish. Additionally, YouTube is piloting a ‘Lip Sync’ feature that uses AI to adjust the speaker’s lip movements to match the translated audio for a more seamless viewing experience.

For viewers, a new ‘Preferred Language’ setting has been added, allowing them to choose their desired audio track or stick to the original version. Creators also maintain control, with the option to turn off auto-dubbing if they prefer. According to YouTube, the feature is already a hit; by December 2025, an average of 6 million daily viewers were watching at least 10 minutes of auto-dubbed content.
