Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited Kotha Buruju village in Nandyala district on Monday to distribute new Pattadar passbooks to farmers. During a public meeting, the Chief Minister asserted that the current alliance government is working tirelessly to rectify the administrative failures of the previous YSRCP regime. He specifically targeted the controversial Land Titling Act, alleging that the previous government attempted to seize lands from farmers and the poor under the guise of legal reforms. Naidu also criticized the placement of 1.95 crore acres under the “Prohibited List” (Section 22A), claiming it was done for political vendetta and illegal land grabbing.
To ensure absolute transparency and security for landowners, the Chief Minister introduced passbooks integrated with QR code and Blockchain technology. He explained that these advanced measures make the records tamper-proof, ensuring that any unauthorized changes or official errors are immediately detectable. Naidu contrasted this with the previous administration’s approach, noting that nearly ₹750 crore was wasted on printing photos of the then-CM on passbooks and survey stones. He emphasized that the new surveying process is conducted in the presence of farmers and based on their direct approval to eliminate corruption.
Turning his focus to regional development, the Chief Minister reiterated his vision to transform Rayalaseema into a global Horticulture Hub. He announced that the central government would provide ₹30,000 crore under the Purnodaya scheme to support this initiative. Additionally, plans for a “Drone City” in Kurnool and an “Aerospace City” in Anantapur were highlighted as key drivers for future investment. Naidu also assured citizens that unlike the previous government, which raised electricity tariffs eight times, his administration would not impose such burdens. He concluded by warning against false propaganda regarding the Tirumala Laddu, vowing to protect the sanctity of the temple at all costs.
