BRS leader Kalvakuntla Kavitha has responded to the fresh notices issued by the CBI in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case. Taking to social media platform X, she stated that she is currently consulting with legal experts regarding the notice and affirmed her commitment to cooperating fully with the investigation. She emphasized her confidence by stating, “As long as truth is on my side, I will completely cooperate with the officials.” The CBI has directed her to appear for questioning on March 16.
The case has gained fresh momentum after the CBI approached the Delhi High Court following a recent decision by the Rouse Avenue Court. Previously, the trial court had discharged 23 accused in the case, citing a lack of sufficient evidence and even suggesting an inquiry into the investigating officer. However, the CBI’s appeal to the High Court led to the current summons. Kavitha pointed out that her legal team is reviewing these developments as the case re-enters a critical phase of investigation.
Kavitha’s history with this case dates back to March 15, 2024, when she was first arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act and moved to Tihar Jail. After spending approximately six months in judicial custody, she was granted bail by the Supreme Court in August 2024. As the date for her appearance nears, the political and legal spotlight has once again shifted toward the developments in the national capital.
