PM Modi Strongly Condemns Drone Attack on UAE; Three Indians Injured in Fujairah Incident

The Indian government has reacted sharply to the drone attack on the Fujairah Petroleum Industries Zone (FOIZ) in the UAE, which occurred on Monday, May 4, 2026. UAE officials have confirmed that the strike was carried out via drones originating from Iran, resulting in injuries to three Indian nationals. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep concern over the incident, stating that such acts of violence are entirely unacceptable.

Taking to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi formally condemned the attack, emphasizing that targeting innocent civilians and vital infrastructure violates international norms. He reiterated India’s firm solidarity with the UAE during this crisis and stated that the safety of Indian citizens abroad remains a top priority for his administration. The Prime Minister also called for a peaceful resolution to Middle East tensions through diplomacy and dialogue.

In tandem with the Prime Minister’s statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed that the Indian Embassy is in constant contact with local UAE authorities to ensure the injured Indians receive the best possible medical care. Furthermore, India has voiced concerns regarding the stability of international trade routes, particularly the Strait of Hormuz, urging all parties to prevent disruptions to global shipping. Analysts suggest this attack has significantly escalated regional tensions, potentially undermining previous ceasefire agreements.
