The police have officially taken YSRCP leader and MLC Anantha Babu into custody for a one-day interrogation regarding the high-profile murder of his former driver, Subrahmanyam. Following the court’s approval, he was shifted under heavy security from the Rajahmundry Central Jail to Kakinada. Authorities maintained a strict vigil during the transit to prevent any untoward incidents as the case continues to draw significant public and political attention.
The investigation is currently underway at the Sarpavaram Police Station in Kakinada, where a special police team is questioning the MLC on several critical aspects of the crime. Investigators are focusing on the sequence of events on the night of the murder, the specific motives behind taking Subrahmanyam from his home, and the circumstances that led to his death. This custodial interrogation follows serious allegations that the accused had been attempting to intimidate key witnesses in the case.
The police aim to extract vital information and bridge gaps in the existing evidence during this limited custody period. Once the one-day interrogation is complete, the officials are expected to present a detailed report of their findings and the information gathered from the MLC to the court. The outcome of this session is considered crucial for the progression of the legal proceedings in the ongoing murder investigation.
