Former Andhra Pradesh Minister and YSRCP leader RK Roja has described Thalapathy Vijay’s victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections as nothing short of a “miracle.” In a recent interview, she highlighted that while cinematic legends like MGR, NTR, and Jayalalithaa have made history in politics before, Vijay’s feat is unique because he chose to quit acting at the peak of his career to fight a lonely battle without any major alliances. Roja noted that his party, TVK, didn’t just attract mass fans but also gained significant support from “class voters” like doctors and lawyers who were desperate for political change.
Addressing the swirling rumors about her own political future, the actress-turned-politician revealed that she has deep ties with Tamil Nadu and had received an invitation to join Vijay’s TVK. She also recalled that the late Jayalalithaa had previously encouraged her to contest elections in Tamil Nadu. Despite these high-profile invitations from across the border, Roja firmly dismissed any possibility of leaving her current party, asserting that her political journey is inextricably linked to the leadership of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Roja emphasized her unwavering loyalty to the YSRCP, stating that Jagan Mohan Reddy treats her like a sister and provided her with immense respect and opportunities as both an MLA and a Minister. She credited her national recognition and political standing entirely to Jagan’s trust and leadership. By reaffirming her commitment to stay with the YSRCP “until the end,” Roja has effectively silenced the ongoing speculation regarding her potential shift to Tamil Nadu politics following the recent election results.
