Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan expressed great joy over the state’s emergence as a significant player in the international defense sector. He described the foundation-laying ceremony for the mega defense projects in Puttaparthi as a “historical milestone” in the industrial history of Andhra Pradesh. Hailing the coalition government’s efforts, he noted that the ₹15,803 crore investment would firmly place the state on the global defense map.
The Deputy CM highlighted that the ‘Aircraft Integration and Flight Test Centre’, spanning 650 acres in Sri Sathya Sai district, will be pivotal to national security. He took immense pride in the fact that Andhra Pradesh is partnering in the indigenous development of the fifth-generation stealth fighter jet, AMCA. According to Kalyan, this project significantly bolsters Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ vision, showcasing India’s self-reliance in high-end military technology.
Beyond defense strategy, Pawan Kalyan emphasized the economic impact, noting that approximately 7,500 youth in the state would gain high-value employment opportunities in the technology sector. He also expressed optimism regarding the development of a cutting-edge ‘drone ecosystem,’ aiming to make AP a leader in drone technology. He credited Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership for the state’s rapid industrial growth and extended special thanks to PM Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh for their support in bringing these projects to Andhra Pradesh.
