In a surprising turn of events, Kalvakuntla Kavitha has made candid and critical remarks regarding the leadership style of her father and BRS chief, K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). Speaking at a media event, Kavitha acknowledged that KCR was an extraordinary leader during the Telangana movement, where he was deeply connected with the people. However, she observed that after assuming the Chief Minister’s office, he gradually became distant from the masses. She remarked that he became so engrossed in administration that he functioned like a machine, failing to gauge the underlying emotions and sentiments of the public.
Lack of Priority for Family Members
Kavitha shared emotional insights into KCR’s rigid demeanor as the head of the party and the government. She poignantly stated that even as his daughter, she rarely had the opportunity to approach him with her personal grievances. She raised a pointed question: “How can a leader who was not accessible even to his own family members be expected to listen to the hardships of the common man?” According to her, this stern and unapproachable stance created a significant void between the leadership and the people.
The Shift from Leader to Administrator
Reflecting on the current political shifts in Telangana, Kavitha asserted that KCR’s transformation from a beloved movement leader to a mechanical administrator is a primary reason for the recent changes. She opined that a leader can only truly understand the struggles of the people when they remain a “man of the people.” By limiting himself strictly to governance and administrative duties, the human element and emotional realities of the state became invisible to him, leading to a disconnect that has now become a central point of political discussion.
