The Telangana Police have intensified their investigation into the high-profile case involving Bandi Bhageerath, son of Union Minister of State Bandi Sanjay, who faces serious allegations of sexually assaulting a minor girl. In a major move to check his movements, the police have officially issued a lookout circular (LOC) to ensure the accused does not flee the country. Bhageerath has already been booked under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and five special police teams have launched a massive manhunt to locate and arrest the absconding youngster.
As part of the ongoing crackdown, a dedicated police team conducted extensive searches at Bandi Sanjay’s official residence in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. Investigators are currently gathering detailed call data logs and information about individuals who have been in constant touch with Bhageerath recently. Additionally, the police have placed the residences of his close friends and relatives under strict surveillance, leaving no stone unturned to trace his current whereabouts from all possible angles.
This development follows a major legal setback for Bhageerath at the Telangana High Court regarding his anticipatory bail plea. After a prolonged hearing that stretched until Friday midnight, the bench explicitly stated that it could not grant anticipatory bail or relief at this stage of the investigation. While the court deferred its final decision on whether to grant interim protection from arrest until next week, the police have escalated their field operations to apprehend him immediately.
