No Fuel Shortage in Telangana: Oil Marketing Companies Issue Key Clarification

Fuel Supply Stocks and Monitoring: Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) in Telangana have issued a critical clarification dismissing all rumors regarding a shortage of petrol, diesel, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) across the state. The state coordinator for OMCs assured consumers that there is absolutely no deficit in fuel reserves and that the supply chain is being monitored around the clock. Steps are actively being taken to optimize transportation and delivery systems to ensure swift supply to all fuel stations and distribution centers.

Surge in Fuel Supply and LPG Trends: According to official data released by the energy firms, Telangana recorded a robust growth in fuel distribution during the first 15 days of May, with petrol supplies increasing by 14.2% and diesel by 15.7%. Conversely, domestic LPG cylinder bookings have witnessed a seasonal decline due to the ongoing summer heatwave. OMCs reported that 20.06 lakh cylinders were successfully delivered up to May 17th, and advised anxious consumers to refrain from panic-booking cylinders in advance, as current stocks are perfectly adequate.

Digital Booking and Secure Delivery: The oil corporations are encouraging LPG consumers to leverage digital platforms—such as SMS, missed calls, IVRS, and online portals—for a seamless booking experience. To curb malpractices and guarantee that kitchen gas reaches genuine beneficiaries, companies are heavily emphasizing the One-Time Password (OTP) based delivery authentication code system. OMCs revealed that this secure verification method has already achieved a 95% implementation rate across Telangana, ensuring transparent and hassle-free distribution.
