Andhra Pradesh Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu set a stellar example for environmental conservation by actively participating in the government’s “No Vehicle Day” initiative. Choosing to shun his official car, the minister traveled from Palakollu to Vijayawada by train as a common passenger on Friday. Upon arriving in Vijayawada, he pedaled his way to the party office in Mangalagiri, earning widespread praise from the public for his hands-on approach to spreading awareness about eco-friendly travel.
This marks the second consecutive week that the minister has championed this green campaign, demonstrating his long-term commitment to the cause. Ramanaidu covered a distance of approximately 18 kilometers on his bicycle, drawing considerable attention along the streets of Vijayawada. By choosing public transport and cycling over a motorized convoy, he effectively connected with ordinary citizens while delivering a powerful message on reducing vehicular pollution.
The eco-friendly journey saw enthusiastic support from fellow political leaders when the minister reached Tadepalli. TDP State President Palla Srinivas extended a warm welcome to Ramanaidu, and the two leaders notably doubled up on a single bicycle to ride together to the party’s central headquarters. The unique sight created immense enthusiasm among local residents and party workers, who remarked that such proactive steps by public representatives will significantly contribute to building a pollution-free society.
