Megastar Chiranjeevi Intervenes: Seating ‘Percentage’ Row Deferred; Ram Charan’s ‘Peddi’ to Release on Rental System

A long-standing dispute between Telangana theater exhibitors and film producers has finally reached a temporary resolution following a crucial intervention by Megastar Chiranjeevi. For some time now, exhibitors and producers in the region have been at loggerheads over switching from the traditional fixed rental system to a revenue-sharing percentage model. The theater exhibitors had adamantly demanded that this new percentage system be strictly implemented starting with the release of the highly anticipated Ram Charan starrer Peddi. To resolve the deadlock, representatives of the Telangana exhibitors held a special meeting with Chiranjeevi today to explain their grievances.

Following detailed discussions, Chiranjeevi successfully mediated the issue, convincing the exhibitors to put their decision on hold for the time being. As a result, the exhibitors agreed to defer the implementation of the revenue-sharing model. They announced that Peddi, which is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on June 4, will be screened under the existing fixed rental system across Telangana. The exhibitors clarified that the new percentage-based model will only be made applicable to movies releasing after June 30.

Megastar Chiranjeevi expressed his happiness and appreciation toward the Telangana exhibitors for making this flexible decision in the interest of the industry’s smooth functioning. He advised all stakeholders to avoid unilateral moves and suggested moving forward collectively based on the upcoming official report and guidelines to be submitted by the Film Chamber Committee. This timely intervention has provided massive relief to the makers of Peddi, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free theatrical release across the state.
