Summer Holidays: Huge Rush of Devotees at Tirumala; Compartments Completely Full

The sacred shrine of Tirumala is witnessing a massive influx of pilgrims due to the ongoing summer vacations, leading to a heavy rush at the temple. On Wednesday alone, a staggering 89,403 devotees visited the hill shrine for the darshan of Lord Venkateswara. Mirroring the high footfall, the Srivari Hundi collections recorded a massive amount, with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) announcing an income of ₹4.99 crores in a single day in the form of offerings.

According to the official statistics released by TTD across various categories, 49,958 pilgrims tonsured their heads as an offering to the deity on Wednesday. Additionally, the temple authorities sold 4.22 lakh Srivari Laddoos to the visiting devotees. Reflecting the scale of hospitality and welfare, the free meal distribution system (Annaprasadam) served 2.52 lakh people, while medical services were provided to 3,603 pilgrims during their stay.

As a result of the immense crowd, the waiting time for Sarvadarshan (free darshan) has increased drastically. All the designated compartments for devotees without advance tokens have been completely filled, causing the queue lines to spill over and extend outside up to the Krishna Teja Guest House. TTD officials have informed that it is currently taking approximately 12 hours for pilgrims to complete their Sarvadarshan.
