Nampa Bomb Scare: Delhi-Bound IndiGo Flight Receives Hoax Threat Minutes Before Takeoff at Lucknow Airport

A major bomb scare triggered panic at the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow after a Delhi-bound IndiGo flight received a threat just minutes before its scheduled departure. The incident occurred aboard flight 6E2111, which was scheduled to take off at 10:45 AM with approximately 180 passengers on board. The alarm was raised when cabin crew discovered a handwritten note on a toilet tissue paper claiming that a bomb had been planted on the aircraft. The crew immediately alerted airport security and Air Traffic Control (ATC), setting off emergency protocols.

Following the threat, airport authorities acted swiftly to ensure passenger safety, immediately deplaning all 180 passengers and moving them to a secure terminal area. The aircraft was taxied to an isolated bay where a comprehensive security sweep was conducted by the bomb disposal squad, dog squad, and central security forces. Every corner of the plane, along with the checked and cabin baggage of the passengers, was meticulously scanned. After hours of intensive inspection, security personnel found no suspicious items or explosives, confirming the threat to be a complete hoax and bringing massive relief to the stranded passengers and airline staff.

This incident follows a similar scare that recently occurred at Kerala’s Kannur International Airport, where a suspicious note found in the lavatory of a Mumbai-Kannur Indigo flight prompted an emergency isolation and search, though it was later deemed a misunderstanding by the crew. With a sudden rise in recent mid-air and pre-departure bomb threats targeting domestic flights, aviation security agencies and law enforcement have significantly heightened their vigilance and counter-measure protocols. Lucknow police and airport security are currently auditing CCTV footage and passenger manifests to identify the individual responsible for writing the note on the tissue paper, vowing strict legal action against the perpetrator for endangering public safety.
