BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) took a sharp satirical dig at the ruling Congress government over the internal turmoil surrounding Telangana Congress affairs in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan’s rejected Rajya Sabha nomination. Addressing a press conference, KTR mocked that since the Congress administration has a habit of setting up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for every minor issue, they should formally constitute a SIT to investigate the sabotage of their own leader’s candidacy. He alleged that it was inside elements within the Congress party who deliberately worked against Natarajan to dismantle her Rajya Sabha prospects.
KTR claimed that the internal rifts, factionalism, and power struggles within Congress are solely responsible for this political embarrassment. He alleged that members of the Congress party themselves brought the technical discrepancies of her affidavit to the attention of the Election Commission of India to settle internal scores. Given the gravity of the backstabbing, KTR suggested that senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi should urgently step in to identify the “party traitors” hiding within his own ranks rather than pointing fingers at opposition conspiracies.
Shifting his focus to the local governance, the BRS leader launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s administration, accusing him of prioritizing publicity over actual development. KTR remarked that instead of resolving the pressing municipal issues of Hyderabad, the government is busy misleading the public with grand rhetoric about “future cities.” He pointed out that the chaotic conditions and waterlogging caused by the latest spell of rains have thoroughly exposed the state government’s infrastructural failures. Furthermore, KTR voiced strong concerns over the Union Government’s proposed delimitation process, warning that BRS would fiercely resist any move that diminishes the parliamentary representation of Southern states that contribute significantly to national development.
