Cricket South Africa has revised the schedule for India’s women’s tour by adding a three-match T20I series to the itinerary. Initially, the tour consisted of one Test and three One-Day Internationals, but the inclusion of the T20Is means the Indian team will now spend an additional week in South Africa.
As per the updated schedule, the one-off Test will be played in Gqeberha from December 9 to 12, followed by the three-match ODI series between December 16 and 22 in Paarl, Cape Town, and Bloemfontein. The newly added T20I series will take place from December 26 to 30 in Benoni and Potchefstroom.
Cricket South Africa believes the additional T20I series will serve as valuable preparation for the inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy, scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka next February. CSA CEO Pholetsi Moseki said competing against one of the world’s strongest teams across all three formats would provide South Africa’s players with crucial experience ahead of major international tournaments.
