Nara Lokesh Gives Key Directions to TDP Ministers Ahead of AP Local Body Elections

Ahead of the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet meeting, TDP national general secretary and minister Nara Lokesh held a breakfast meeting with party ministers. During the meeting, he discussed several key issues, including local body elections, new pensions, the performance of government departments, problems faced by farmers and the public, and upcoming party programmes. Lokesh directed ministers to ensure that new pensions are provided to every eligible beneficiary in a phased manner starting from October. He also called on the party cadre to remain fully prepared for the local body elections and work in coordination to ensure the victory of alliance candidates across all constituencies.

Nara Lokesh said the government is taking steps to complete the local body elections by October and made it clear that there is no question of postponing them. He said efforts are underway to resolve pending matters in the courts at the earliest and conduct elections across all local bodies. According to Lokesh, municipal elections are likely to be held first, followed by MPTC and ZPTC elections, and finally the panchayat elections.

Lokesh also warned that any delay in the local body elections could result in the state losing Finance Commission funds, potentially causing a financial setback to Andhra Pradesh. He urged ministers and party leaders to work together, address the concerns of farmers and the public, and ensure effective coordination between the government and the party ahead of the upcoming elections.
