A horrific road accident occurred in Nanded, Maharashtra, when a speeding truck collided head-on with a Tata Magic passenger van. Nine people were killed on the spot, while three others sustained serious injuries. The injured were rushed to a government hospital for treatment, and some are reportedly in critical condition.
According to reports, the accident took place around 6:30 pm near the Sitakhandi area close to Wakad village on the Nanded-Bhokar Highway. The truck was travelling from Bhokar towards Nanded at high speed when it collided with the Tata Magic coming from the opposite direction. The impact completely crushed the passenger van and threw it to the side of the road.
There were 12 passengers in the Tata Magic at the time of the accident. Nine died at the scene, while the remaining three were seriously injured. Police and emergency personnel reached the spot and shifted the injured to the government hospital. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, while the death toll could rise if the condition of the critically injured victims worsens.
