The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced a major update for Aadhaar users by launching the Aadhaar Face Authentication Software Development Kit (SDK) and Aadhaar Face Authentication Sandbox. The new tools were launched at the Global Fintech Fest 2026 to make Aadhaar-based verification easier and more accessible.
The Face Authentication SDK and Sandbox will allow banks, fintech companies, government departments and other organisations in the financial sector to integrate Aadhaar face authentication into their digital applications more easily. The tools are designed to support organisations in developing and testing applications that use Aadhaar-based facial authentication.
With these new offerings, UIDAI aims to simplify the integration of face authentication technology across digital services. The initiative is expected to help organisations adopt Aadhaar-based verification more efficiently while expanding the use of secure digital authentication services.
