In a bold move that has sparked widespread attention, the Iranian Consulate in Hyderabad has shared a satirical AI-generated video mocking U.S. President Donald Trump. The video comes shortly after Trump announced an indefinite extension of the two-week ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran, which was originally set to expire recently. Trump stated that he made the decision following requests from Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir. In response, the Consulate’s official handle posted the 45-second clip with a caption questioning how the ceasefire was actually extended, noting that the video is currently viral in Iran.
The AI-generated footage depicts a boardroom setting where Donald Trump, joined by Vice President J.D. Vance, is seen waiting impatiently for an Iranian delegation that never arrives. Using popular internet culture, the video employs the “2,000 Years Later” meme from SpongeBob SquarePants to highlight the passage of time as Trump waits at an empty table. In the clip, Trump is shown posting on his platform, Truth Social, claiming he is holding “great talks” with Iran, only to express frustration when faced with an empty room. The satire culminates with a staffer handing Trump a note that bluntly says, “Shut up, Trump.”
Following this, the AI version of Trump shrugs and tells his team that he will extend the ceasefire “at Pakistan’s request” before abruptly leaving the room. While the video is clearly satirical, the real-world diplomatic situation remains complex. While the U.S. has extended the ceasefire to give Iranian leadership more time to prepare a proposal, Iran’s foreign ministry has accused the U.S. of irresponsibility and negligence. Iranian officials clarified that they have not yet decided whether to participate in the second round of peace talks scheduled to take place in Islamabad, leaving the diplomatic future uncertain despite the technical extension of the truce.
