Iran Mocks Trump Amidst Tensions, Suggests a “Cultural Detox” in India

As the world closely watches for a potential peace agreement between Iran and the United States, Tehran has continued to openly mock US President Donald Trump, this time bringing India into the conversation. The Iranian Consulate General in Mumbai took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a video highlighting the geographical and cultural heritage of Maharashtra. In a sharply worded post, the consulate suggested that someone should book a one-way “cultural detox” for Trump to India, adding that witnessing the country’s rich history might stop his “nonsense” talk, quipping, “Come and see India sometime, then speak.”

This social media jab from Mumbai is part of a broader, sustained online campaign by the Islamic Republic, which has been using its global embassies and consulates to share AI-generated content ridiculing the American leader. Just days prior, the Iranian Consulate in Hyderabad posted a satirical 45-second video showing Trump and Vice President JD Vance waiting for an Iranian peace delegation. In the clip, when Trump asks where the Iranians are, an official simply hands him a piece of paper that reads, “Trump, shut up.”

Despite Iran’s relentless online mockery, President Trump continues to project strength, asserting that the US has the upper hand and that Iran’s military has been effectively decimated. He recently declared that the US naval blockade on Tehran is “one hundred percent effective.” This confident rhetoric from Washington coincides with a significant escalation in American military presence in the region, highlighted by the recent arrival of a third US aircraft carrier, the USS HW Bush, near Iranian waters.
